The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex could not sustain the early gains and is down by around 106 points at 19,895 in the afternoon trade. In the opening trade, it shot up by 104 points. The wide based National Stock Exchange's Nifty is also down by about 41 points at 5969 after rising in the opening trade.
