BSE Sensex after gaining 75 points in opening trade,later gave up all initial gains

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange, which had added 75 points in opening trade, today, later gave up all its initial gains, to stand 111 points, or 0.6 per cent in the red, and slip below the 19,000 level, at 18,981, in afternoon deals, a short while ago. The Sensex had advanced about 230 points in the last two sessions. The bourses in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan were up by between 0.1 per cent and 1.5 per cent, today. Many technology shares gained ground in the region, after upbeat results from Apple, and IBM. Over on Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Index had gained 0.4 per cent, overnight.
