BSE, NSE to conduct mock trading in commodity derivatives segments on Saturday

Leading stock exchanges BSE and NSE will conduct mock trading in commodity derivatives segments on Saturday in order to familiarise brokers with the trading systems.

The exchanges received the approval of  Securities and Exchange Board of India   yesterday to launch the segments, starting with non-agriculture commodities like metals, from October 1st.

The bourses plan to launch derivatives trading in non-agriculture commodities in the initial phase, followed by agriculture commodities. Currently, the platforms offer trading in equities, equity derivatives as well as currency derivatives.

The(SEBI) last December announced that from October 2018, the country would have a unified exchange regime wherein stock exchanges would be allowed to offer trading in commodity derivatives.
