The Broadcasting House of All India Radio in New Delhi will soon be declared a heritage building. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni who paid a visit to the All India Radio for an overview of its working and infrastructure on Wednesday, has instructed to initiate the process for conservation and declaration of the building as a heritage site soon.The Minister, who was accompanied by Prasar Bharti Acting CEO Rajiv Takru, asked the AIR officials to try and maintain the heritage structure of the public broadcaster.Ms Soni also asked the officials to spruce up the archival section and work towards preserving and conserving every section. The building houses the broadcasting heritage of the country and has served as headquarters of both Doordarshan and All India Radio for several decades.
