British PM due to unveil plans for new Islamic index on London Stock Exchange

The British Prime Minister David Cameron is due to unveil plans for a new Islamic index on the London Stock Exchange. He will make the announcement at the World Islamic Economic Forum in the next few minutes. The World Islamic Economic Forum is hosting its ninth annual conference in London from today through Thursday, the first time it has been held in a non-Muslim country.David Cameron believes Islamic finance could be a great opportunity for the UK's finances services sector as Islamic investment have soared by 151 percent in the last seven years. The Prime Minister also want Britain to be the first Western country to issue an Islamic bond of sukuk worth around 200 million ponds.
