British Prime Minister David Cameron has held a meeting with the Afghan President Hamid Karzai, his first with a foreign leader since becoming Prime Minister.<br/><br/>Officials said Cameron reaffirmed the UK's commitment to building a stable future in Afghanistan. <br/><br/>The talks were held in Chequers, the Prime Minister's country residence. Karzai stopped over in UK on his way back from Washington, where he discussed issues with US President Barack Obama. <br/><br/>Officials also said it was President Karzai who had requested the meeting with the new prime minister.
