British PM assures for greater facilitation to Indian IT professionals

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has assured India that his country will look into the matter of greater facilitation for Indian IT professionals. During his meeting with the President Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil in London, Mr Brown said that cooperation in IT is very important in the context of growing strategic partnership between India and the UK. Both the leaders exchanged views on empowerment of women and their role in contributing to democracy and development. Mr Brown expressed keen interest in partnership with India in socio-economic spheres. Stressing the need for more cooperation in higher education, he said that the UK will provide expertise in establishment of IITs and Central Universities in India. <br/>President Patil also met Prince Charles.<br/>AIR correspondent reports that a grand reception was hosted by City of London in honour of the President. <br/>
