British Prime Minister David Cameron arrives in Mumbai on Monday with the largest ever trade delegation. Mr. Cameron said that India is going to be one of the great success stories of this century and Britain would like to be one of the partners in this story.
Seeking a deep and special relationship with India, British Prime Minister David Cameron has urged India to further reduce its trade barriers to ease the entry of British investors. Addressing leaders of India Incorporate in Mumbai on Monday, Mr. Cameron said he wanted British companies to help India in developing the corridor between India's financial capital, Mumbai and India’s tech hub, Bangalore. Calling on businesses to play fair; Mr. Cameron said that highly aggressive forms of tax avoidance should be regarded in a similar way as tax evasion. While citing great opportunities for Indian companies in his country, Mr. Cameron announced that Britain would introduce same-day visa services for investors.
Addressing the issue of Indian students in Britain, Mr. Cameron said there is no limit on the number of Indian students who can come and study in British universities. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Metro also got a boost as one of the delegate companies ‘Transport for London’; that operates the London’s metro has promised to exchange expertise and technology in the development of Mumbai's Metro rail network.
