The British Prime Minister David Cameroon has announced details of strategic defence and security review. He said that an eight per cent cut in real terms in defence budget but no cuts in the funding for Britain's current operations in Afghanistan. Cameroon announced loss of twenty five thousand civilian jobs at the Ministry of Defence and seven thousand cuts in the size of the British army. He also spelled out substantial cuts in aircraft and ships for the Air Force and Navy. Cameroon said the British armed forces will continue to have a vital operational role and so will retain a large well equipped army numbering around ninetyfive thousand five hundred by 2015.
