British Govt. appeals to Chinese authorities for clemency

The British Government has made a last minute appeal to the Chinese authorities to show clemency towards the British man convicted of drug smuggling. Akmal Shaikh from London has been told he will be executed in a few hours time. Relatives of the man, who were allowed to see him, say he has been mentally ill and had no idea he was carrying heroin when he arrived in China two years ago. <br/> <br/> <br/><br/>
