British Energy Minister calls on Dr. Jitendra Singh

The United Kingdom's Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Ms. Amber Rudd today called on Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh in New Delhi. During the meeting, both leaders discussed wide range of issues of mutual interest between the two countries including civil nuclear energy cooperation and Prime Minister's forthcoming visit to the United Kingdom later this year. <br/><br/>Dr Singh also conveyed to Ms Rudd that India's nuclear energy programme is primarily meant for peaceful purpose. <br/><br/>Noting that India and UK share collaboration in the field of atomic energy at different levels, Dr. Singh said, the mutual cooperation in this field is bound to grow further in the years to come. Ms. Amber Rudd, who is on a two-day visit to India, dwelt on overall strategy of the British government in relation to energy including renewable energy and solar energy as well as climate change policy.
