<br/><br/>In Nepal, the visiting British Army Chief, General Sir David Julian Richards called on the Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and hailed the efforts made by Nepal Government on management and integration of the Maoist combatants and described these as positive measures in ending the peace process.<br/><br/>Briefing newsmen about the meeting, Prime Minister' Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai said Gen Richards has expressed Britain's commitment to extending necessary logistic support including training to Nepal Army. He also expressed hope that the current peace process would end soon to ensure a peaceful, stable and prosperous Nepal.<br/>Gen Richards, who is on a four-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Nepal Army Chief General Chhatraman Singh Gurung, is scheduled to call on President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Defence Minister Vidya Bhandari tomorrow. General Richard has reviewed key welfare programmes for the Gorkha soldiers, who have been part of the British Army for about 200 years.
