Britain hails Nigerian Prez’s decision

Britain has welcomed the decision by Nigeria's ailing President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua to recognise his deputy Goodluck Jonathana as acting President.The British ambassador to Nigeria, Bob Dewar lauded the statement which said Jonathan will keep full powers as the commander-in-chief as the 58 year-old President recuperates from an heart ailment.Jonathan had been elevated to the position of acting President by Parliament on January 9 after Yar'Adua left the country three months ago to undergo treatment for a heart condition called pericarditis.
