Britain has announced an additional 50 million pounds to Pakistan to bolster its fight against Taliban. This was announced by Prime Minister Gordon Brown after meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, Yousuf Raza Gilani in London. At their joint press conference Mr Brown said the money will go into Pakistan'sprogramme to help re-establish its control over the chaotic border region, which he has identified as the source of three-quarters of the terrorist plots that have targeted Britain since 2001.The British Prime Minister said the aid being provided will also go into reconstruction, education and the relocation of people displaced in the fighting.Mr Gilani arrived in London from Germany on the second leg of his two-nation visit for talks with the British leader who has lobbied the country to do more to find the al-Qaeda leaders believed to be hiding out in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border region.
