Britain, France support India for permanent membership of UNSC

<br/>Britain and France have voiced their support for India 's case for permanent membership of the UN Security Council and favoured deepening of bilateral ties with New Delhi . The views of the two countries come at a time Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh’s role assumes prominence in the G20 summit that is at crossroads faced with mutual differences on the global economic recovery process. Dr. Singh said, India would like to see continued and concerted efforts from all countries to further consolidate the global economic recovery process. Dr. Singh, said, the slack in private expenditure can be compensated by stimulus measures and increasing public expenditure. Dr. Singh said, this to his British counterpart David Cameron in a separate bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Toronto . The two leaders also reviewed their bilateral relationship and expressed happiness at the existing cooperation between the two countries. <br/>They also agreed to enhance the proportion of mutual trade and commercial activities. Dr. Singh said India would like to see more Bilateral investments from Britain . Trade between India and Britain stands over 13 billion US dollars. Britain supported India ‘s counter terrorism measures and also supported its claim for a permanent seat in the United Nations. Dr. Singh who congratulated the British Prime minister on his electoral victory in their first meeting, invited David Cameron to visit India . Brefing media persons, the External Affairs Ministry, Joint Secretary, Mr. Vishnu Prakash said, British Prime minister David Cameron will visit India next month. <br/> <br/>Prime minister Dr. Manmohan also had another separate bilateral meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy. In a warm and cordial meeting the two leaders expressed views on regional and global issues including the current economic crisis.<br/>
