In Britain, 7 people were killed and 48 others injured in a terror attack in central London last night. Describing it a terrorist incident, police shot dead three suspects. The attack took place when a speeding van hit pedestrians over London Bridge before suspects jumped out and launched a knife attack on people enjoying a Saturday night out in pubs and restaurants in near by Borough market. <br/><br/>Police said the suspects wore hoax explosive vests. Police have arrested 12 people during raids in Barking, east London following the attack. Most political parties suspended national general election campaigning following the attack, but British Prime Minister Theresa May announced that full campaigning will resume tomorrow and General Election will be held as scheduled on Thursday. <br/><br/>She blamed the evil ideology of Islamist extremism for the three terror attacks in the country. May said, violence can never be allowed to disrupt the democratic process.<br/> <br/>France and Australia, with citizens among the victims, led condemnation of the attack. Condemnation of the attack also came from German Chancellor Angela Merkel, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. <br/><br/>President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the world leaders in condemning the attack. In a tweet, Mr.Mukherjee expressed condolences at the loss of lives and sincere wishes for the recovery of the injured. Mr.Modi described the attacks as shocking and anguishing. He said his thoughts were with families of the deceased and prayers with the injured. <br/><br/>The Indian High Commission in London has issued a helpline number for any Indians affected in the attacks. The number is 020-763-230-35. In a tweet the Commission said it will extend all possible assistance to the affected and their families irand friends in the difficult hour.
