Brisk polling recorded in Jharkhand despite poll boycaott call by Maoists

In Jharkhand brisk polling is taking place in four Lok Sabha constituencies of Koderma, Chatra, Lohardaga and Palamu where polling is taking place today All the four are in naxal affected areas but people are coming out to vote despite the naxal call for poll boycott.

Till 1 PM, Koderma recorded voting percentage at 45 percent, Chatra 36 percent, Lohardaga 42 and Palamu 40 percent polling.

The Election is being monitored intensively through ground by deployment of 49 thousand security forces, out of which 45 thousand are deployed in polling booths which is over seven thousands spread across 10 districts.

201 web cams are also deployed in sensitive booths to monitor the poll live by the Election Commission Officers.
