Brisk polling, peaceful in Nagaland

In Nagaland, brisk polling is reported from most of the polling stations across the state to elect 59 members of the 60-member state assembly today. About 30 per cent of the voters have cast their votes by 9:30 this morning. Polling will end at four this afternoon.
Even in the state capital Kohima, voters stayed overnight at some of the polling stations to cast their votes. In the remote Assembly Constituencies of Mon and Tuensang Districts, despite the morning chill voters came out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. Barring a minor scuffle at Wokha Town Constituency, polling remained by and large peaceful throughout the state.
