The Congress has demanded that the sports bodies should be brought under the purview of RTI. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said this will help in controlling corruption in such bodies. Mr Surjewala said when the UPA was in power it tried to bring sports bodies under the ambit of RTI but the then opposition BJP did not support it. The spokesperson said, his party will support the government if it is ready to bring a bill to put sports bodies under RTI.<br/><br/>Also addressing the briefing senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad reiterated party's demand for resignation of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in view of alleged irregularities in Delhi and District Cricket Association, DDCA. He said, Jaitley's resignation will facilitate fair probe into the matter. He also sought to know why the BJP is silent on the serious allegations of by its MP Kirti Azad against Mr Jaitley.
