Bring corporates under RTI Act: Bihar CM

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has suggested that corporates and private sector should be brought under the ambit of the Right to Information Act. Addressing the annual convention of Central Information Commission which concluded yesterday in New Delhi, he said that people invest through shares and they have a right to know what is going on in corporate sector. So many times, it is seen that problems arise when money of small investors sink. Mr. Nitish Kumar said, Governments have to intervene and stimulus packages have to be issued. Mr Kumar said that the norms of freedom of information and the assurance of widespread citizen participation in public affairs are esential for the full realization of the democratic values.The Bihar Chief Minister, who has implemented Right to Service in his state, also said that a similar law should be enacted by the centre. Chief information Commisioner, Mr Satayananda Mishra also presented the brief outcome of the two day convention on this occassion.
