BRICS policy planning dialogue concludes in Patna

The BRICS Policy Planning Dialogue was successfully concluded today in Patna. Delegates of BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa attended the meeting.<br/><br/> After meeting the Joint Secretary (Planning & Policy), Ministry of External Affairs, Santosh Jha said the dialogue gave an opportunity for sharing of best practices in foreign policy planning and assessment between the BRICS countries.<br/><br/>Mr. Jha said the quality and scope of discussions affirmed the significance of the voice of BRICS given that it is a grouping that brings together five major world economies that are home to 43 percent of the world population.<br/> He said there were fruitful exchange on strategic assessments of international situation and regional situation of each country and trends therein going beyond immediate issues of quotidian diplomacy.<br/><br/> The delegation also discussed the role of BRICS in international governance, ongoing cooperation at BRICS Forum and reflected on areas of convergence among BRICS.
