BRICS employment working group meeting concludes in Hyderabad

The first meeting of BRICS working group on Labour and Employment concluded in Hyderabad today. A consensus was arrived at the meeting to include social security and inclusive growth in the draft declaration to be made later this year. Addressing a press conference, Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said, the two-day meeting discussed several aspects of strengthening BRICS. <br/><br/>Laying emphasis on skill enhancement and networking of BRICS Labour institutions, the Minister said, they will be included in the forthcoming Labour and Employment Ministerial Document. He also said, India will explore entering agreements with the BRICS countries on the lines of the agreements it had with 19 countries for social security of employees working of foreign land as the size of the employable youth will grow to 80 crore by the year 2030. Mr Dattatreya said, consultations on several technical issues will continue.
