Nine-day-long World Book Fair is underway at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Over 800 publishers are participating from across the country and abroad in the event which is said to be Asia's largest book fair. The theme this year is "Manushi – writings on and by women".<br/><br/>Our correspondent reports that thousands of book lovers have thronged to Pragati Maidan to the book fair which kicked off yesterday despite chill and cold weather. People of all ages can be seen making a beeline at bookstores taking advantage of being a Sunday today reemphasising the old saying books are the best friends.<br/><br/>The Theme Pavilion on Manushi has on display books from different genres, posters and panels of some of the eminent women scholars of ancient and medieval India as well as women pioneers of modern Indian literature. The fair is also celebrating 60 years of National Book Trust at the Special Pavillion, with an exhibit titled, This is No Looking Back.<br/><br/>To ease the burdern of book lovers, exclusive counters with book fair tickets as well as Metro tokens for Pragati Maidan have been put up at select metro stations.
