The government today said that some countries have shown interest in purchasing the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system. The Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony however said that the BrahMos missile will be exported only after sufficient numbers have been provided to the country's armed forces. He said that at present the three services have placed orders for these missiles and the production is in progress. He said that adequate infrastructure is being built to meet this requirement. The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile jointly developed by India and Russia has superior performance with regard to the speed, precision, higher reliability and destructive power on designated targets.
