In London today, top seeded Sharapova overcame Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova in three sets 7-6, 6-7, 6-0. The match was halted yesterday evening with the Russian leading 3-1 in the second set .In another fixture, sixth seeded American Serena Williams defeated Melinda Czink of Hungary 6-1, 6-4. India's Leander Paes and his Czech partner Radek Stepanek will begin their Men's Doubles campaign today. The fourth seeded Indo-Czech pair will clash with the Columbian duo of Alejandro Falla and Santiago Giraldo. Yesterday, the Indian duo of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna advanced to the Men's Doubles second round after beating Marcel Felder of Uruguay and his partner from Tunisia, Malek Jaziri, 6-0, 7-6, 6-2.
