Pune-based senior badminton umpire, Girish Natu, has been selected as a technical official at the London Olympics starting later this month. The Games, commencing on July 27, would be Natu's second Olympics on the trot. He earlier officiated as umpire in Beijing four years ago.A press release from the Poona District and Metropolitan Badminton Association stated that Natu has officiated at major international badminton events since 1994. They include the Thomas and Uber Cups, World Championships, All England championships, Sudirman Cup and Grand Prix events.
