BPR&D holds round table on laws related to bail

Bureau of Police Research and Development, BPR&D, today organized a round table in New Delhi on the issues relating to Bail. <br/><br/>Various aspects of law of bail including difficulties faced by Police under present arrangements were discussed. <br/><br/>Criteria for grant of bail and conditions related thereto were recommended to be codified to reduce discretion in the matter. Issues relating to anticipatory bail, use of forged documents to obtain bail, role of victim in bail hearing, bail in matters relating to foreigners were also discussed. <br/><br/>Representatives of CBI, NIA, NCB and different States Police participated in it. An official release said, the round table was held at directive of the Law Commission which is actively considering the issues relating to Bail. <br/><br/>The Commission had asked BPR&D to get inputs from police organizations on the issues. Law Commission the Chairman Dr Justice B. S. Chauhan and all the three members Mr Justice Ravi R. Tripathi, Prof. Dr S Sivakumar and Dr Sanjay Singh attended the round table discussion.
