The Sports Ministry today cleared the name of National Boxing Federation of India as 'Boxing India' (BI) which is already recognized as a permanent member of the International Boxing Association (AIBA). The Sports Ministry stated that the matter was examined in detail and it has no objection to the registration of 'Boxing India' to be the new governing body of the sport. Boxing India President Sandeep Jajodia said the registration is a stepping stone in expediting the administrative formalities and streamlining the overall functioning and activities of body.
