Boxers Vikas Krishan and Manoj Kumar qualify for Rio Olympics

Asian Games champion Vikas Krishan today booked Olympic berth after advancing to the semifinals of the International Boxing Association's (AIBA) World Qualifying Tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan. Second seed Vikas got past Korea's Lee Dongyun by a 3-nil margin in quarter finals.Vikas will now be up against Turkmenistan's Achilov Arslanbek in the semifinal tomorrow. Vikas has now taken the total number of Indian boxers assured of Olympic berths to three. Shiva Thapa had made the cut in the 56 kilogram category for Rio during the Asian Qualifiers in March. Former Commonwealth Games gold-medallist, Manoj Kumar also qualified for the Olympic Games today.
