Boxer Vijender qualifies for London Olympics

In boxing, India's Vijender Singh has qualified for the London Olympics in the 75 kg category. In the Asian Olympic qualifier, at Astana in Kajakhstan, Vijender has reached the semifinals after defeating Chuluntumur Tumurkhuyag of Mangolia in the quarterfinals. The semifinal clash between Vijender and Nusrat Pajiyev of Turkamenistan will take place on Wednesday.Vijender is the first Indian boxer to qualify for the Olympics for the third time in succession. Besides Vijender, four other Indian boxers, L. Debendra Singh, Vikash Krishna, Manoj Kumar and Jaibhagwan, have so far qualified for the London Olympics.
