Botswana today sought investment from Indian companies in sectors like infrastructure, mining, irrigation and jewellery. The visiting Botswana Vice-President M S Merafhe said in New Delhi that there is enough scope for bilateral collaboration in areas like irrigation, infrastructure and mining. Mr Merafhe stressed on the need to increase trade and investment levels between the countries by utilising opportunities to their full potential. During 2008-09, bilateral trade between the two countries stood at 46.62 million US dollars. Before leaving back home the visting dignitary will open the Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority's (BEDIA) liaison office in Mumbai. It will serve as a one-stop information centre for enquiries on trade and investment in Botswana.
