Both oil benchmarks make weekly gains of more than 6%

Both oil benchmarks made weekly gains of more than six per cent, marking their biggest weekly increase since the week ending October 13 after the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza.
 
In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading at 83 dollars and 55 cents per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was trading at 78 dollars and 01 cents per barrel when reports last came in.
