For the third day today, the Rajya Sabha could not transact any legislative business due to uproar by Congress on the National Herald issue. The opposition Congress members continued with their protest throughout the day whenever the House re-assembled.When the House met at 3 PM, Congress members again trooped into the well raising slogans against the government. <br/><br/>Amidst noisy scenes, Deputy Chairman Prof. P J Kurien announced the list of business for the next week along with the allocation of time. He asked the agitating members to go back to their seats saying that the House will take up the Whistle Blowers Protection Amendment Bill for discussion. He disapproved the behavior of the agitating MPs in the well of the House.<br/><br/>The agitating members continued with slogans. Earlier, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi charged the Congress with hijacking the House by disrupting its proceedings. Several ministers including Communication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the government is ready for discussion on all issues. He said the agitating members are running away from debate. <br/><br/>The proceedings in the Lok Sabha were smooth after the walk out by Congress and TMC during Zero Hour. The House assembled for the day, Congress members sought adjournment, which was rejected by the Speaker. Congress members trooped into the well seeking action by the Chair against the BJP member Virender Singh for his alleged derogatory remarks. Later, the House was adjourned for lunch break.
