‘Both Houses of Parliament adjourned on 2 G spectrum issue

The government on said that it is trying to resolve the deadlock over the opposition demand for a JPC probe into 2G spectrum. Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Thursday, the leader of the Lok Sabha Mr. Pranab Mukherjee however, said that no solution has yet been found to break the log jam. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Pawan Kumar Bansal said that the government wants Parliament to function for the entire winter session which is scheduled to end on the 13th of next month.Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha Mrs. Meira Kumar has made an appeal to both sides to end the deadlock. On Thursday for the tenth working day in a row, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day following uproar by the opposition over their demand. The issue rocked both the Houses of Parliament today as well and the two houses were first adjourned till noon and then for the day.AIR Correspondent reports that except for the opening day of the winter session on 9th of this month, hardly any business could be transacted because of repeated adjournments and stalling of proceedings by the opposition over their demand.
