Both Houses of Parliament were on Friday adjourned till noon following uproar over sugarcane price issue. As soon as the Lok Sabha assembled for the day the entire opposition was up on their feet. The Speaker Mrs. Meira Kumar said that she is not accepting the notices for suspension of question hour for taking up the issue after which the agitated opposition members led by Samajwadi Party and RLD trooped into the well of the House shouting slogans. The Speaker then adjourned the House till 12.00 clock.In the Rajya Sabha, immediately after a nominated member H.K. Dua took oath, opposition member led by Samajwadi Party rushed to the well of the House raising pitch over the issue. The Chairman Mohammad Hamid Ansari adjourned the House for 15 minutes. When the House met again, Mohd. Ansari said that he has received the notice for suspension of the question hour from the leader of the opposition but since the issue has been scheduled for discussion, he is rejecting the notice. However the members did not heed and some of the SP members sat on Dharna in the well of the House leading to the adjournment of the House. Our Parliamentary correspondent reports that the government has convened a meeting of all political parties on Monday to discuss the issue. The Business Advisory Committee also decided to take up this issue for discussion in the first seven sitting of the House.
