Both Houses of Parliament have been adjourned for a day following uproar over the issue of corruption in Commonwealth Games, Adarash housing society and 2 G Spectrums. In the Lok Sabha, the BJP led opposition demanded probe by Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) and said that unless the government does so, it will not let the house run. On the other hand, the members from Treasury Benches wanted the question hour to continue. The Speaker, Mrs Meira Kumar told the agitating members that the government is ready for discussion but several opposition members trooped into the well and continued to raise pitch and the house was adjourned till 12. In the Rajya Sabha, as soon as the house met for the day, Leader of the opposition, Arun Jaitley, wanted suspension of question hour to discuss various corruption cases including 2G spectrum, CWG projects and Adarsh housing society scam. He alleged that all institutional mechanisms of the government like CBI and Central Vigilance Commission are being subverted. There were heated exchanges between the opposition and the treasury benches. The Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari adjourned the house after his repeated pleas to let the house run, went unheeded.
