However, in the winters the river flow slows down due to river water freezing under sub-zero temperatures.<br />''<br />''Taking the advantage of freezing Shyok, Project Himank has completed construction of abutments and piers on Shyok.<br />''<br />''A combination of River training works, steel girders and naturally available boulders are used to divert water flow into multiple channels to begin the works.<br />''<br />''After completing the preliminary works, Project Himank has now launched the super structure of the 120 MTR bridge on Shyok.
