Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea have entered the second round of the Men's Doubles event at the Madrid Open tennis tournament. In the first round , the Indo-Romanian pair defeated the Croat-Finnish combination of Marin Draganja and Henri Kontinen 5-7, 7-6, 10-6. Bopanna and Mergea kept their nerves to outplay their opponents in the third set tie-breaker at the clay court event. The Indo-Romanian pair saved three break points out of five.Maria Sharapova has advanced to the third round by beating Mariana Duque-Marino of Colombia 6-1, 6-2 yesterday.
