Rarely in history do words strike such a chord as did Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak's "Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it". <br/><br/>Uttered boldly in court a hundred years ago while contesting charges in the 'Poona sedition case', it fired the imagination of a country which then rallied strongly for independence from the British.<br/><br/>As part of the centenary celebrations of his statement, a book 'Tilak In Our Times' was released by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today at Pune in a Function organised by Lokmanya Tilak Vichar Manch and Pune International Centre.<br/><br/>While speaking on this occasion, Mr. Fadnavis said, Lokmanya Tilak also gave us concept of Swadeshi and in today's contest Swadeshi is redefined as ''Make in India''. He said, with this redefined concept of Lokmanya we will make Swadeshi Popular not only in India but all over the world.<br/><br/>Eminent Persons like Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare, Journalist Dilip Padgaonkar, Ministers from Maharashtra Cabinet Girish Bapat and Dilip Kambale were present on this occasion. <br/><br/>Two activists of the Republican Party of India (Kharat group) who allegedly tried to disrupt this function were detained by Police.
