The Honorable Chief Justice of India SH Kapadia today inaugurated a new service where writ petitions can be filed online in the Bombay High Court. This service was launched in an occasion to commemorate the 150th Anniversary Celebrations of the Bombay High Court. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan, Union Law Minister Salman Kurshid and many high court judges were also present at the occasion.Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan and Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid opined that India and China are both rising powers but the legal system of India will give it an advantage over the middle powers. Lauding the Bombay High Court on its achievements the Union Law minister said that The Bombay High Court is the best symbol of our commitment to judicial independence. He added that the issues of appointing more judges, infrastructure and providing faster and affordable justice are further heights to be captured to make the Indian Judiciary stronger and powerful.
