The Bombay High Court has sought NCP leader and Maharashtra's Minorities Affairs Minister Nawab Malik's reply to the contempt plea filed by Dnyandev Wankhede, father of former zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Sameer Wankhede. Irked by Mr Malik's intention to constantly accuse Sameer Wankhede regarding his illegal license, fake caste certificate, and Aryan Khan drug case, the court said it will withdraw the concession, if the misuse continues. A bench of Justices S J Kathawalla and Milind Jadhav also wondered why Mr Malik was repeatedly taking concessions in respect of his undertaking that he would restrict his comments only to the professional aspects of Wankhede's life. Mr. Malik's counsel Ramesh Dube, however, said that the minister wanted to file his reply to prove that these statements fell within the concession. Permitting Mr Malik to file his reply, the hearing was adjourned till Monday.
