Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will be the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of the 150 years celebration of the Bombay High Court today. He will also deliver the golden jubilee convocation address at the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, later today. On the occasion, the Degree of Doctor of Science will be conferred upon renowned industrialist Azim Premji.The Prime Minister will also award medals to the meritorious students of IIT and give away Ph.D degrees.Meanwhile, a delegation led by State Congress chief Manikrao Thakre met the Prime Minister and requested Dr. Singh to hasten the transfer of NTC’s Indu mill land to the state government to construct the proposed memorial of Dr BR Ambedkar. The delegation also discussed the issue of drought with the Prime Minister.The Prime Minister will leave for New Delhi later today.
