<span style="color: #222222;">Bombay High Court has allowed the Enforcement Directorate's adjudicating authority to pass final orders on the provisional attachment of assets belonging to Maharashtra's former home minister Anil Deshmukh and his wife Aarti. The court, however, has directed the authority not to take any coercive action till 10th of next month.<br />'' <br />'' A division bench of Justices Gautam Patel and Madhav Jamdar directed the ED to submit its reply to a petition filed by Aarti Deshmukh challenging the provisional attachment of their assets by the agency in connection with a money laundering case.<br />'' <br />'' Her counsel Vikram Chaudhri had argued earlier that as per the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, the adjudicating authority should be a three-member panel comprising a chairperson and two members, one of whom should have law background. He argued that presently, the authority comprises merely a single member who does not even have a law background.<br />''<br />''During the hearing, Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, appearing for the ED, told the court that the single-member adjudicating authority has powers to hear the proceedings as per law.</span>
