In Thailand, two bombs have exploded outside a government building where the cabinet of prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva was holding a meeting. The government moved its weekly cabinet meeting to the Health Ministry to avoid protests from the supporters of ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Two bombs exploded outside the Health Ministry but no one was injured and there was only minor damage to a parked car. Inside in the meeting, the cabinet agreed to extend the Internal Security Act – which gives the military control over policing the city – until the end of the month. Meanwhile, the red shirts are continuing to hold protests and say they will stay on the street until the government resigns. Last week an estimated 100,000 red shirts marched through Bangkok, the largest protest in the city since the red shirts rioted in April last year, leaving two dead and scores injured.
