Bomb blasts kill policeman in Iraq

In Iraq, bomb explosions in the eastern province of Diyala province today killed a policeman and wounded four others while the security forces captured a suspected al-Qaida leader. According to police, a roadside bomb went off near a car carrying two off- duty policemen in a village near the town of Baldruz, south of the provincial capital city of Baquba killing one of them and seriously wounding the other. In a separate incident, three people were wounded in a roadside bomb explosion at a village near the town of Jalawla in the province. Sources said an Iraqi Special Weapons and Tactics team arrested Salam al-Majmaie, a suspected al-Qaida leader of Diyala province, and three of his aides during a raid on their safe house, west of Baquba.
