Body of legendary Rabindra Sangeet artist Suchitra consigned to flames

The dead body of the legendary Rabindra Sangeet artist Suchitra Mitra who died in Kolkata on Monday, was on Tuesday consigned to flames at the Keoratola crematory in the evening. The late singer’s body was first taken to Rabindra Sadan from the mortuary Peace Haven, were it was kept over night. At Rabindra Sadan the West Bengal Chief Minister Mr. Buddhadev Bhattacharya, the state Left Front Chairman Mr. Biman Basu and the Mayor of Kolkata Mr. Soven Chattyopadhya apart from hundreds of the singer’s fans and students paid floral tributes to the departed soul the body was then taken to Rabitirtho, a School of Rabindra Sangeet with which Suchitra Mitra was closely attached. The body was then taken to Keoratola crematory where it was consigned to flames.
