In Arunachal Pradesh, the bodies of Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu and four others killed in the Tawang Chopper crash will be airlifted to Itanagar this morning. The rescuers were unable to retrieve the bodies located on Wednesday due to bad weather. Minister for Development of North Eastern Region B K Handique said in Itanagar that smaller choppers will be sent today to airlift the bodies. Dorjee Khandu’s body will be brought to Itanagar and kept at the Chief Minister’s official residence. Later it will be taken to the Congress headquarters where party leaders, workers, officials and other dignitaries will pay homage to the departed leader. His body will be taken to Tawang where the last rites will be performed on Friday with full state honours.
