In Kerala, the boat services at the picturesque Thekkady lake at the Periyar Wildlife sanctuary in Idukki district resumed on Friday. The service was suspended since September 30 last year, after a boat capsize in the lake that claimed 45 lives. <br/> <br/>Five boats, three belonging to the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation and two owned by the State Forest Department resumed service ferrying tourists. <br/> <br/>To prevent unauthorised procurement of boating tickets, authorities have decided to allow boating only for those with passes issued at the entrance gate of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. <br/> <br/>Seating capacity has been brought down in all the boats while the number of crew and life guards in each boat has been increased.<br/>
