In Andhra Pardesh, at least 14 persons including 6 women drowned and 20 others were missing after a boat capsized river Godavari in West Godavari district of the state. Local people have rescued 10 persons when the boat carrying nearly 50 persons overturned this morning near BiyyapuTeppa village. The District Incharge Minister Mr. Reghu Veera Reddy told the media that nine bodies including four children have been recovered. District Superintendent of Police BalaKrishna said, rescue operations are going on for the remaining people. More details from our correspondent:<br/> <br/>The boat ferrying nearly 50 persons who are on their way to attend some local festivities at Antaryvedi, overturned in river Godavari near Biyyapu Teppa this morning. Several persons are feared drowned and massive rescue operation in going on at BiyyapuTeppa to trace out about 20 missing persons. However, 10 persons travelling on the fateful boat have been rescued by the local people immediately after the incident. District Superintendent of Police Balakrishna is coordination the rescue operations while the revenue and police officials are carrying out the search operations. Our Local reporter informed that ferrying more than boat capacity seems to be the reason behind the incident. Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Rosaiah expressed shock and grief over the incidence and assured all possible help to the families of the victims. A Minister Vatti Vasanth Kumar has been rushed from Hyderabad to monitor the rescue operations.
