The Board of United Spirits Ltd. has ordered a probe into the loans given by it to Vijay Mallya-promoted United Breweries Ltd. The probe has been ordered as the company registered a net loss of around 4,500 crore rupees for the year 2013-14, as against the net loss of 105 crore rupees in the previous year. The Board has directed the Managing Director to engage independent advisors and specialists as required for the inquiry.
